G’day fellow humans, this is indeed a great day, a great day because I am breathing, you are breathing, and because of that i am able to start a project that will change lives; mine, peoples, and maybe yours.
What is this project?
Alright, first you need to know a little about me.
My name is Edwin. I’ve always wanted to, at least often dream about doing great things (everyone does!). I’ve always been grateful for what I have and seeing all the other less fortunate than me I know that I need to lend a help and I KNOW I am equipped with all that I need to do it.
Bono, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have always inspired me and I look up to them because they are mega rich and not just that, they do mega philanthropy works which change the lives of MILLIONS of people. So it got me thinking, I am not rich, but I really want to help lots of people. How do I get lots of money to help lots of people?
The Inspiration:
I like t-shirt design, I want to donate millions of dollars, and selling 1,000,000 t-shirts came to mind, I can’t design completely different designs for all 1,000,000 t-shirts, but I can put different numbers on each t-shirt, Voilla! The birth of ONE MILLION TEE (1MT).
The idea:
selling 1,000,000 t-shirts each with a number from 1 to 1,000,000. Thus, each t-shirt will be unique. To create a global movement.
The Cause:
Help create sustainable job opportunities in Africa.
Why?
For the past living years of my life I’ve seen billions and billions of dollars donated to Africa but I do not see much changes, the real solution is creating sustainable job opportunities for them to sustain themselves, not by just giving them piles of food, money, and medicines. When they have a job to earn a living, they have money for food, medicines, and to send their children to school. With education, their children’s lives will change forever and their generations to come. And World Cup South Africa 2010 is next year; the world will see how capable and talented bunch of people they are.
What can you expect to see from this Blog?
In this blog you’ll get all the updates on the process of my journey from designing website, t-shirt, packaging, to looking for sponsors and partners, sourcing for materials (t-shirts, packaging, printers etc), marketing and advertising for the project, people who join and help in the project, people who bought the t-shirts, and everything else related.
